Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument - Mt. Trumbull Access

Hike Description:  An easy, 3 mile round-trip dayhike in the Mount Trumbull Wilderness Area.  This hike has historic sites and excellent views.  The hike goes by a wooden flume used to carry water to an 1870 Mormon sawmill.  Elevation 6,400-8,028 feet.  Nixon Springs usually has water.

Directions to Trailhead:  From AZ highway 389, take Toroweap Road (8 miles west of Fredonia).  Travel on Toroweap for approximately 46 miles, then take the right fork of the road (west) to Mt. Trumbull.  Approximately 6 miles along this road is Nixon Springs, the Mormon sawmill site.
