Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument - Mt. Logan Access

Hike Description: An easy, cross-country, 3 mile round-trip hike in the Mount Logan Wilderness Area.  The hike goes along a closed road about a mile, then cuts across cross-country up to the summit.  This hike offers excellent views of Hells Hole mountain, and rare opportunities to view the native Merriam’s turkeys.  Elevation 7,300-7,866 feet.  No water is available on this hike.

Directions to Trailhead:  From AZ highway 389, take Torweap Road (8 miles miles west of Fredonia).  Follow this dirt road for 46 miles.  At the major fork in the road, take the right fork that goes west towards Mount Trumbull.  Turn left (heading south) just prior to reaching Nixon Spring Reservoir.  Go approximately 4 miles on this road until you reach a major fork.   Begin hiking along the right fork of this road.
