Threats to the existence and protection of Sonoran Desert National Monument - Sonoran Desert is threatened by over-grazing, off-road vehicle use, and a planned power plant and power lines near Mobile.  Mountain States Legal Foundation, an industry-backed law firm that formerly employed Interior Secretary Gale Norton, is challenging the presidential authority to proclaim monuments.  The lawsuit specifically names Sonoran Desert, Grand Canyon-Parashant and Ironwood Forest National Monuments, as well as other out-of-state monuments.  Click here to Take Action!
