Please come learn more about the key environmental issues, meet and greet your local legislators and their stance on important issues, meet other activists, and make a difference in the Valley of the Sun. We work closely with the Saguaro Group (North Maricopa County) and Grand Canyon Chapter Political Committee on overlaping candidates and issues.
The Grand Canyon Chapter Political Committee meets the first Monday of each month at 5:30PM in the Sierra Club's Phoenix office. All members are welcome to discuss legislative and federal issues, and act as advocates for conservation by taking political action. Contact John Sadowsky or Lynn DeMuth for details. Visit the Grand Canyon Political Page for Arizona political information.

11/07 Update
Palo Verde Group endorsee Michael Nowakowski won Phoenix City Council District 7 seat by defeating Laura Pastor during run-off election held on 11/6/07. After considering the results of a candidate questionnaire covering a broad range of environmental issues, selected candidate interviews and additional research, we endorsed only one candidate across all districts. Michael is a candidate who truly understands and is committed to environmental justice for the communities of District 7. We are proud of Michael's accomplishments and look forward to working with him .
