Sonoran Desert National Monument Public Meetings

Following is the schedule of community information meetings on the Sonoran Desert National Monument (SDNM).

PLEASE PLAN TO ATTEND ANY OF THESE MEETINGS THAT YOU CAN! We need to let BLM know we support SDNM at its current acreage, and that we oppose changes to monument boundaries or management to allow for increased consumptive uses.

SDNM is threatened by planned power plants and power lines, ORV use, and over-grazing. We hear the Bush administration is considering changes to SDNM boundaries to allow for vehicle races and power line corridors. Please come out and show your support for this beautiful and ecologically important monument!

* this meeting is particularly important to attend–we are expecting a crowd of folks who either don't like the monument, or want to increase access and roads within it.
